Rat Elimination Project:

In Nigeria as a focus, most homes and school hostels (including university hostels), and most stores have the presence of rats. They live in these places or visit from outside the places and go out frequently. Rats cause destruction of food and other items in these places, their urine creates odours in the places, their presence cause embarrassment, they are scary to some people, and above all they are known to transmit disease causing agents. A serious disease trend in recent time is Lassa fever. Rats are known to eat feet and fingers of sleeping persons in some homes. Our organisation has well-planned rat depopulation/elimination project for communities. We have arranged it to be sustainable and to make it eventually become a cultural way of life for keeping rats off human dwellings. Our strategy is for community based control persons with some benefits as motivation. No use of poisons. Our method is centred around a sustained elimination rate of rats that exceeds their rate of reproduction in a given period of time.
